I first came across this book at a library that I frequent and I absolutely loved it. It is the perfect book for a kid who wants to learn how to draw and use motion to create their own games. You can choose to draw a character in the style of Disney’s Mickey Mouse, or an army of the most popular characters from your favorite franchises such as Spider-Man, Indiana Jones, or Spider-Man 2.
Animator Eric Van Dijk is the guy behind this book. I asked him about the book and he told me that it is a lot like an art book. The art is based on the drawings that Eric uses to create the characters and their movements in the animated movie trailers. He explained that they took a lot of the movie trailers and animated them in three dimensions. He also told me that it’s a lot like a book-format animation book.
Eric said that the book can be read in two ways: an interactive book, or a non-interactive book. Its an interactive book, since you can interact with the characters by pointing at them and clicking. But its an absolutely non-interactive book because it only covers the movement of a single character.
